Friday nite saw the Raiders take a commanding 3-0 lead with a 15-12 victory in Edmonton. Brett McIntyre led the Raiders with 10 points (5/5), Dallyn Rai replied with 7 points (2/5) for the Blues.  In game 4, the Blues tied the game 8-8 early in the 3rd, only to see Zach Mantei & Josh Zawada pump in 2 each, unanswered, for the Raiders in the 3rd earning them a 12-8 win to finish the series. The Blues are to be commended for an outstanding series despite the sweep. Every game was extremely competitive & the future is bright for a team full of young talent.

The Swat/Mounties series continues to be a dogfight. Game 3 saw the Mounties go on a 7-1 run in the second period & cruised home with a 11-8 home victory.  Toron Eccleston & Jake Foster led the way with 3 goals each for the Mounties, Zach Gould had a stellar game for the Swat with the hat trick. On Saturday nite the lead changed 4 times with the last one being the winning goal by the Swat's Zach Gould, late in the  game to make it a 9-8 win for the Swat to even the series at 2-2.  Gould continued with the hot hand racking up 6 more points (3-3) for the Swat. Lazlo Henning & Cam Chessor replied with 4 points each for the Mounties. Sunday did not disappoint with another back & forth game. Lead changes, momentum swings, this one had it all. The Mounties break the tie with a late marker to win 7-6. The Mounties travel to Saskatoon with a 3-2 series lead. Next weekend will tell us who is going to the Minto. That's why we play the game....

The Rocky Mountain Jr. A Lacrosse League semi-finals kicked off on Fri. July 13 where the Raiders overcame a 3 goal deficit to the Blues, drawing first blood with a 9-7 win at Max Bell. The revamped Blues lineup suffered a rash of penalties in the 3rd to allow the Raiders to take the lead that they did not relinquish. A late empty net goal sealed the deal. Saturday saw the Blues with another 3 goal lead with 3.37 left in the 3rd, only to have the Raiders roar back to tie it late. Overtime was back & forth, the Raiders went up by 2 & the Blues got one late, giving the home team a 2-0 series lead.

Swat & Mounties started their series off on Saturday nite with a very rough, intense game going to overtime after the Mounties fought back to tie it up 8-8 late. Mounties started strong with the first 2 goals, only to have the Swat take the lead for most of the game, until the late marker by Jake Foster. Swat turned it on in overtime, outscoring the Mounties 3-1. Sunday was all Mounties roaring out to 4-0 lead & didn't look back with a 9-3 victory to tie the series at a game apiece in Saskatoon.

Both series resume Fri.July 20, at George Hughes Southside arena, Blues host games 3, 4 & 5 if necessary, vs.the Raiders & the Mounties will do the same for the Swat at Stu Peppard. Get out & support these great athletes, best lacrosse in the province. #roadtominto
