Mounties Earn Minto Berth

The Calgary Mountaineers punched their ticket to the Minto Cup tournament on Saturday nite in Saskatoon. The Mounties prevailed in another seesaw battle with the Swat 8-6, giving them a 4-2 series win. This game mirrored the previous tilts with back & forth action, 4 lead changes & a late empty net goal by veteran defender Ryan McLean. This ends the Swat's aspirations to make history by being the 1st Saskatchewan team in the Minto Cup. The Swat made huge strides this year & are breathing down the neck of the front running Calgary teams. Look for great things from these young men next year.
