Battle of Calgary Gets Split

The Mounties and the Raiders played out a two-game weekend with each team coming out with a win.  The Mounties took the first game by a score of 8-10 while the Raiders rebounded the next day with a 14-9 victory.

The first game saw the Raiders mount a spirited comeback in the third period only to come up short in the final minutes.  Kyle Playsted led the charge for the Mounties with a 6-point performance while goaltender Caden Rotter turned away 34 of 42 shots.

The Raiders carried the momentum of their third period performance in game one into game two.  Levi Anderson dominated offensively as he earned points on 10 of the team’s 14 goals and the Mounties struggled to solve Jack Bruzell-Friesz’s net minding.

As we come down to the final two weeks of the season each team will be battling hard to secure a comfortable playoff position.  With the points race so tight every game will be monumental.
